For me, photography is about capturing a small piece of the subject’s soul. As the great master Richard Avedon said, “All photographs are accurate. None of them is the truth.” I believe that the photographer’s job is to identify the truth and beauty in his subject and capture it in a manner appropriate and specific to the subject and the mood desired.

I don’t believe in bland one-size-fits-all approaches of many commercial photographers. I don’t believe in sitting down a subject in one place and putting a light at 45 degrees to their right. I don’t believe in photoshopping out every imperfection and digitally manipulating noses and lips to meet some unattainable ideal. But I do believe in capturing the beauty that is present in everyone.
